Education:
Studied at Lund University and the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm.
1969: Dr in Geophysics.

Career History:
1963–2000: Defense Research Institute (FOA), Stockholm, Sweden.
1963–1985: Research on Seismic verification.
1986–1987: Head of Anti-submarine warfare project.
1987–1994: Director and Head of Laboratory for Information Technology.
1991–1994: Director and Head of Laboratory for Weapon System.
1994–2000: Deputy Director General.
Retired June 2000: Adviser to the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Professional Achievements:
1969–1994: Participated, as a member of the Swedish delegation, in the Test Ban Negotiation at the Conference of Disarmament and its predecessors.
1981–1996: Chairman of the Group of Scientific Experts at the Conference on Disarmament.
1996 onwards: Chairman of Working Group on verification (WG B) within the Preparatory Commission of the CTBT.
